Rock Steady Boxing Program Director at The Palms of Largo Wins Affiliate Coach of the Year

Largo, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2022) – Rock Steady Boxing Program Director Leah Einboden at The Palms of Largo, located in Largo, Fla., was recognized as Affiliate Coach of the Year from Rock Steady Boxing Inc. for her leadership and dedication to help boxers fight back against Parkinson’s.

“It is an honor to receive the Affiliate Coach of the Year award. As Rock Steady Boxing Program Director at The Palms of Largo, I get to be a part of every boxer’s journey from day one. It is a privilege to inspire, encourage, and support them in their fight against Parkinson’s disease,” said Einboden.

“Leah is an exceptional trainer and dedicated support group leader for the boxers in the Rock Steady Boxing program at The Palms of Largo,” said Melissa Wojewnik, executive director of Cypress Palms in Largo, FL. “She always goes above and beyond for her boxers. She helps address individual needs and shares a wealth of information with the boxers and their families. She also adapted her teaching methods for virtual and in-person classes, which has helped make Rock Steady Boxing the successful program it is today.”

Rock Steady Boxing Inc. holds an annual international conference, known as CoachCon, for Rock Steady Boxing coaches to network and engage in training and educational sessions on how to best serve boxers in their program. This year’s CoachCon was held in Denver, Sept. 16 – 18.

Rock Steady Boxing Program Director Lisa Howard at The Inn on Westport in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Rock Steady Boxing Program Director Beth Dempsey at The Lakes at Stillwater in Stillwater, Minn., two other senior living communities managed by The Goodman Group, joined Einboden at CoachCon this year. Regional Director of Life Enrichment Tina Vauthier of The Goodman Group in Chaska, Minn., was in attendance as well.

Rock Steady Boxing enables individuals with Parkinson’s to fight their disease by providing non-contact, boxing-style fitness programs that are designed to improve their quality of life, sense of efficacy and self-worth. Boxing classes are taught by Rock Steady Boxing Certified Coaches and include an exercise program that attacks Parkinson’s at its vulnerable neurological points. The program focuses on overall fitness, strength training, reaction time and balance, HIIT and circuit training. Rock Steady Boxing classes may benefit anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, and may actually lessen their symptoms and lead to a healthier, happier life.

Rock Steady Boxing at The Palms of Largo is an affiliate program of Rock Steady Boxing, Inc.  Rock Steady Boxing at The Palms of Largo was the first boxing gym opened at a community managed by The Goodman Group and the first affiliate program of Rock Steady Boxing, Inc. in the state of Florida. Since opening in 2016, residents at The Palms of Largo can access these classes for free and individuals living with Parkinson’s in the greater Pinellas community are welcome to attend classes for a monthly fee.
