  • Family Living – Our focus is to provide the highest quality living environment for family living. We we offer of a variety of floor plans to ensure that residents enjoy a well-maintained, vibrant community that they are proud to call home.
  • Independent Living – At these 55+ communities, residents celebrate active, independent living every day! Enjoy everything you could want in retirement living, including chef-prepared meals and daily Life Enrichment activities.
  • Assisted Living – Assisted living allows residents to remain in their independent apartments and receive increased services and support, as needed, to maintain their independence and well-being. Our staff put your needs and comfort first.
  • Extended Congregate Care (Enhanced Assisted Living) – Receive additional care in the comfort of your own apartment. Our extended care license allows our staff to provide services beyond those typically allowed in assisted living communities.
  • Memory Care – Our personalized memory care program, Pearls of Life®, recognizes the value of each individual and “discovers the treasures within.” We focus on individual’s strengths and opportunities for new successes.
  • Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation – We offer some of the most comprehensive skilled nursing facility programs in Pinellas County. Our care is defined by our clinical expertise and the compassion we deliver – one patient at a time.
  • Parkinson’s Program – The Cypress Alternative is a three-tiered program that focuses on education, exercise, wellness, and support. We’ve earned the distinction of being a “provider of choice” for those living with Parkinson’s.
  • Home Health – We offer a range of services ranging from minimal assistance to clinical professionals to ensure we meet your unique health care needs. Experience the highest quality of care in the comfort of your own home.
  • Transitional Care Management – Helping bridge the gap for your transition home after a hospital stay, we deliver a continuity of quality care, management of your unique health care needs, and an overall better healthcare outcome.
  • Respite Care – Respite Care eases the transition to senior living, allowing families and individuals recharge and reenergize. Whether for a day or extended care, these stays are an ideal way to allow the primary caregiver a needed break.

  • Pediatric Care – At Sabal Palms’ Children’s Center, you’ll find an extraordinary staff of professionals that provide 24-hour nursing and stimulating, therapeutic, and educational programs in an atmosphere that’s nurturing and supportive.
  • Pre-School/Day Care – The Learning Center is an experiential preschool where The Palms of Largo residents volunteer, teach and interact with children. Multi-generational programming enhances the understanding between generations.
  • Vacation Rentals – Enjoy a one to six month stay in a fully furnished home with abundant amenities, including chef-prepared cuisine, shuttles, housekeeping, a swimming pool, daily activities, and others tailored to your lifestyle.

Acronyms

  • ADL – Activities of Daily Living: Self-care tasks which include the ability to bathe, dress and undress, eat, use the restroom and get in and out of bed or a chair.
  • AL/ALF – Assisted Living, Assisted Living Facility: A facility that combines housing and supportive services, including assistance with personal care, medication, bathing, dressing and mobility.
  • CCRC – Continuing Care Retirement Community: Housing designed to accommodate the needs of older adults. A full continuum of care is available ranging from fully independent units to assisted living to skilled nursing.
  • CMS – Center for Medicare and Medicaid
  • CNA – Certified Nurse Assistant: A person who has successfully completed a training program to assist patients with healthcare needs.
  • DON – Director of Nursing
  • IL/ILF – Independent Living, Independent Living Facility: This setting is best for seniors who desire an active, autonomous, and socially engaged retirement lifestyle.
  • Intergenerational – A program, initiative, or activity in which older adults and children explore their commonalities and differences, creating mutual understanding and strengthening community.
  • ECC – Extended Congregate Care: A specialty license which allows an ALF to provide additional services, enabling residents to age in place in a residential environment despite limitations that might otherwise disqualify them from residency elsewhere.
  • LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse: Trained to administer technical nursing procedures, as well as provide a range of health care services, such as administration of medication and changing of dressings.
  • LTC – Long-Term Care: A residence that provides a variety of services to inhabitants 24 hours a day, such as a room, meals, recreational activities, and assistance with activities of daily living.
  • OT – Occupational Therapy: A form of therapy that helps people improve basic motor functioning and their ability to perform tasks at home or work.
  • PT – Physical Therapy: A branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities.
  • RN – Registered Nurse: Graduate-trained nurse who has both passed a state board examination and is licensed by a state agency to practice nursing.
  • TCM – Transition Care Management: Transitional care refers to the coordination and continuity of health care during a movement from one healthcare setting to either another or to home.
  • SN – Skilled Nursing: Refers to a resident’s need of care or treatment that can only be done by licensed nurses. The resident may require round-the-clock nursing care, assistance with meals, personal hygiene, medications and mobility.
  • ST – Speech Therapy: A therapy that treats speech impairment from stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis, and voice, speech, and swallowing disorders.
